ABOUT US
Calvary is a Spirit-filled, Bible-based church in the heart of Bradenton, Florida. Founded in 2020, we’re a multi-cultural community of believers passionate about helping people encounter God, grow in their faith, and walk in purpose. No matter your background or story — there's a place for you here.
Whether you’re new to church or returning after a long time, we invite you to come as you are and discover that you're not alone. At Calvary, everyone is family.
in Bradenton
as it is in Heaven.
We long to see the glory of God fill our city — not just in word, but in power, love, and transformation. Our vision is for Bradenton to experience the Kingdom of Heaven right here on earth: homes restored, hearts healed, lives made whole, and people walking in the purpose God created them for.
A 1st Century Church in the 21st Century — rooted in the doctrine, practice, and power of the early Church found in the Book of Acts. We believe the Spirit that filled the upper room, the gospel that was preached in the streets, and the miracles that followed the apostles are still alive, still available, and still our example today.
We value the presence of God above all else. Just as the 1st Century Church turned cities upside down with the message of Jesus, we believe that Bradenton can be transformed by that same Spirit — one prayer, one family, and one act of faith at a time.
We won't settle for less than a real experience with God — not for us, and not for the people of our city. Everything we do — from Sunday worship to midweek prayer is with this vision in our hearts:
In Bradenton as it is in Heaven.

Pastor and First Lady
Darren AND Shyann Parker
With a deep love for people and a passion to share the life-changing message of Jesus, Pastor Darren and Shyann Parker planted Calvary Church in November 2020.
Their vision was simple but powerful: to build a church where anyone, from any walk of life, could experience God’s presence, find real family, and make a difference in their world.
They are blessed with an incredible family who shares in that vision and serves alongside them to help bring it to life.
Together, Pastor Darren and Shyann lead Calvary with authenticity, prayer, and a heart for the hurting. Whether preaching the Word, serving the community, or mentoring others, their purpose remains the same — to see lives transformed by Jesus.
WE BELIEVE
-
We believe it is God’s inspired Word and the final authority for doctrine, correction, and instruction in living a godly life.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." – 2 Timothy 3:16
-
We believe in the oneness of God — that the one true and living God has revealed Himself to humanity as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in regeneration.
One God, who made Himself known through Jesus Christ and now dwells in believers through His Spirit.
“There is one body, and one Spirit... One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4–6
“Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord.” – Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29
-
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but through His grace, salvation is available to all. It is not earned by works, but received by faith.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" - Romans 3:23
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Ephesians 2:8–9
-
We believe the Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we obey the Gospel through repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost — just as the early church did.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:38-39
This promise is for everyone — no matter your age, background, or past. Salvation through Jesus Christ is available to you.
-
As Christians, we are called to love God and love others. We worship God with joy and strive to live lives that are pleasing to Him — both inwardly and outwardly — in our thoughts, words, and actions.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are enabled to walk in holiness, bear spiritual fruit, and live a life that reflects Christ. As an Apostolic church, we believe the gifts of the Spirit are active today and available to all Spirit-filled believers.
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart... and thy neighbour as thyself." - Mark 12:30–31
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance..." - Galatians 5:22–23
"Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." - 2 Corinthians 7:1
-
We believe Jesus Christ will return again to gather His Church. We await His return with hope and expectation.
"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." - John 14:3
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." - 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
